Hello World!

Welcome to The Bossy Brunette! A little about me: My name is Serena Cooper, and I am an estate planning attorney (Cooper Coons, Ltd.), a wife, and mom of twin four-year-olds. Although my days are super busy, I love having a beautiful and organized home, cooking delicious meals, planning exciting and relaxing vacations for my family, and raising two bright (and mostly well-behaved) little ones.

Why I Started The Bossy Brunette

I created The Bossy Brunette because, like most women, my days are filled with meal planning, trying to squeeze in a workout, packing lunches, chauffeuring my kids around town, making sure the house never runs out of toilet paper (honestly, I think everyone else in the house thinks toilet paper grows in the cabinets). I also happen to draft trusts somewhere in between all that other stuff. I wanted to create a space where women who feel like they don’t have any free time can come get not only support but also concrete tips and ideas on how to streamline their lives so that they have time for the things that matter the most to them – whatever those things might be.

What You’ll Get From My Posts

On my site, you’ll find lots of great stuff for women who have kids, don’t have kids, work outside the home, or are stay-at-home moms. I describe The Bossy Brunette as “The Unofficial Lazy Girl’s Guide to Getting Things Done” for a reason. It might be a little flippant to call ourselves “Lazy Girls” since most of us are far from lazy, but I hope that by sharing my tips and ideas here about parenting, fashion, travel, health and fitness, and food, I can help you be a little lazier so you have more time to actually enjoy this crazy life.

To all the women out there like me who grew up being told “you can be anything” and heard “you have to be everything,” let’s start getting things done.
