The Best Affordable Yoga Pants for Women

Don’t get me wrong – I love to splurge on a fancy new pair of yoga pants or a cute workout top. Buying new workout clothes is one of my favorite ways of treating myself if I’ve been sticking to my workouts and eating right. It’s way better than having a slice of chocolate cake and then not FITTING into my workout clothes the next day. And what better motivation is there to keep working hard than looking amazing in your new outfit?

So, being that I LOVE to buy new workout clothes – I really don’t want to go broke trying to look cute in yoga class. ESPECIALLY when the teacher comments during class on my shiny alligator print pants and the whole class looks at them, and now I can’t wear them again for another 8 weeks.

Overbuyer that I am, I have tried a lot of different brands, and I have found one brand that I really, really like called Yogalicious – and the best part is their clothes are CHEAP. Ok, that’s not the BEST part, because there are lots of great things about these pieces, but it’s up there. Here is why I LOVE their clothes, but their yoga pants in particular:

1. Flattering

All of the Yogalicious pants I have are high waisted, but some are just below the belly button, and some go higher. So, there’s no muffin top situation. They’re also really supportive without being tight or constrictive. I’m not a fan of compression wear (except for socks on overseas flights, because no one wants a blood clot), and I get real uncomfortable when my waistband digs into my waist. I am known to go for weeks without wearing real pants – if you see me in jeans, you can trust that they are jeggings. Another thing about a lot of Yogalicious pants is that they have seams sewn in that give the illusion of a great backside.

2. Super soft and comfy

I don’t know what these are made of, but they are SO cozy and soft, and yet they don’t make you feel sweaty. To be fair, I never really work out hard enough to get that glazed donut look like my husband Jeremy does when he works out. Even so, I don’t feel sticky in these clothes, even though they are crazy soft. A lot of workout pants have that shiny slick feel, which is fine for moisture-wicking, but they’re just not nearly as comfy. And while these do have seams, I have yet to have a problem where I can feel the seams while I’m working out (this is a real annoyance with some of the stuff I have owned in the past). I could wear these pants all day. Sometimes I do. Judge all you want.

3. Squat-proof

These are also great at staying put, whether I’m doing yoga, Pilates, a spin class, or sitting in a recliner seat at the movie theater for 2.5 hours. This means I’m not spending half my workout readjusting my waistband because it’s rolled down from my last stretch or squat.

4. POCKETS!

Pockets in my leggings are no longer an option – it is MANDATORY. I find it downright offensive when I find a pair of pants with no pockets – honestly, this is just totally ridiculous. I need a place to stash my phone at the very least, and in a pinch sometimes I need somewhere to put my AirPods or even my keys. I have yet to see a pair of Yogalicious pants that doesn’t have a pocket at least in the waistband. Like I said, this is no longer optional.

5. Did I mention CHEAP?

Most of these pants are UNDER $25. If you buy workout clothes as often as I do, this is a real consideration. I am so excited that I’ve finally found a brand of pants that is both affordable and great quality. I can have one of these in every color, although if you know me, you’ll find me in my usual zone, sticking to the neutrals.

I should also say that their tops are also really soft and comfortable (both solid colored tops I have on in the pictures are Yogalicious). I have not yet tried any of their tops with the built-in shelf bra, though, so I can’t comment on whether those are any good. I will have to update once I’ve had a chance to try them. I’m sure it won’t be long!

I hope you decide to try a pair of these, but I’d also love to hear what your favorite brand is for workout clothes and why! I’m always on the lookout for my next fun outfit!
